The Alpine Club at CU's mission is to bring together Boulder climbers of all experience and ability levels - from Gym Rats to Big Wallers - to form a supportive community of outdoor athletes. Through the organization of group trips, clinics, speakers, and community outreach events, the Alpine Club strives to encourage individuals to take their climbing to the next level. Our trips focus on providing club members with an accessible way to explore climbing areas in and outside of our home base, Boulder, CO. We get out nearly every weekend of the semester to world-class climbing destinations such as Indian Creek, the Black Canyon, Ouray, and many more. We also frequent crags closer to home, giving inexperienced climbers and crushers alike the ability to meet and interact with the climbing community, and most of all, the beautiful rock in our midst. The main goal of the Amuse Creative Writing Club is to encourage all of our members to pursue their passion for writing. Our focus is on creative fiction, so poetry and songwriting are accepted as long as they tell a story. Our meetings consist of open workshops, with some weeks occasionally having optional writing prompts. Meetings will usually begin with sharing and critiques of each other's work (workshops) and end with shared writing prompts or games if there is time left in the meeting. Games and workshops alike may either be held in small groups or include the entire club, whichever is more appropriate at the time. Please try to keep writing for workshopping under 2,000 words (though exceptions can be made depending on the circumstances). Our average club meeting is typically two hours long.

Hello! We are Antibiotics and ARMOR! We are a club at the University of Colorado Boulder whose main focus is spreading awareness of the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance; the process by which microbes, such as bacteria, develop resistance to available treatments. To achieve this, we host a podcast (ARMOR on the Air, on Spotify) discussing community health, bacteria, and the societal implications of microbiology. We also have a newsletter and do outreach/tabling activities to get in touch with the community. We hope to increase awareness of antimicrobial resistance and increase support of research into novel treatments.

We are a team of CU Boulder students developing software for nonprofits and promoting technology for social good. We've partnered with organizations such as Thinking Huts, Safehouse Denver, and more on projects ranging from a respite-matching web app for foster parents to web scraper development for 3D printing schools in Madagascar.

In addition to helping the community, we also aim to create community. Being a Blueprinter is all about using our talents and interests for good and having fun while we're at it. We develop software projects on teams of 5-6 people as well as host bonding events and tech workshops. Some of our most-loved events in the past have been Blueprint Boba, Blueprint Bowling, and Blueprint + Big Data (if you have suggestions for other punny/alliterative events, do hit us up). We also have the annual tradition of creating the Blueprint Boulder Yearbook, where we cherish our memories, appreciate each other, and immortalize our most hilarious moments.

In the BuffBot Brawlers club we want to foster an environment where people can learn, get hands-on experience with, and apply engineering skills hard and soft. We will guide members in the process of designing and putting together their own 1lb - 30lb combat robots and compete with them in our own open community tournaments , as well as abroad. This will engage basic engineering principles such as CAD, 3D printing, electrical engineering, fabrication, cooperation, and interdisciplinary communication. Regular tournaments will be open to everyone at the school and wider Boulder/Denver community, we think outreach is important and we want to inspire and engage others in engineering like we were. Safety is our highest priority though, we are hoping to get mentorships and get ques from the hundreds of other combat robotics competitions around the world on the very best ways to keep teammates and spectators safe.

The Colorado Homeless Assistance with Medicine Program (CHAMP) is a student organization that provides healthcare education and assistance to the homeless community in the Boulder Area. The Colorado Investment Management Society is where CU students with a passion for Asset Management get together and work on ideas and reports analyzing and discussing real-world investments across all sectors and asset classes. This club is not equity-focused! We will be running a simulated stock portfolio competition throughout the semester because it's fun, but equity markets are not our priority. The Asset Management world (especially on an institutional level) is heavily reliant on fixed-income securities and other debt instruments. We will have initial meetings going through fundamental analysis for equity, debt, and derivatives (for those with higher-level math), and we will spend a lot of time understanding the effects that all these instruments have on each other. Besides initial reports where we will just be analyzing investments in either equity, debt, or derivative securities, this club will mostly be focused on hybrid investments that use a combination of these. If a heavily researched parlay investment doesn't sound cool to you, what will?This club is perfect for math-heavy majors (Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics/Astrophysics, etc.) But is also perfect for anybody that wants to learn about how assets are managed at an institutional scale. An understanding of the markets (not just equity markets) can help you with the management of your own finances in the long term. We also publish reports, and if you publish reports they will always be great examples of your work that you can show someone or talk about regardless of what type of job you are interviewing for. This is complex stuff, but is excellent to know, and beyond interesting once you get a basic grasp.We are not financial advisors, nobody can predict the market, and we don't suggest you make investments based on the reports we produce. We are not trading any money from any investors, and besides your personal right to invest, we are not expecting any individuals to execute investments we come up with or analyze. We will be using real world data, and creating investment plans that could be executed in the real world. Any investments made due to our reports are made at the investors risk, our reports are merely our opinion and should not be considered financial advice in the least. Colorado Ski Racing is a student-run organization at the University of Colorado Boulder. We compete in the USCSA alpine ski racing league against universities in the Rocky Mountains, and travel around Colorado and surrounding states to different ski resorts. Our racers range from FIS skiers who had sub 50 points, to first timers in the gates. We have four to five normal season races throughout January and February and one regional level race at the end of the season. Our season is held the first two months of the spring semester, but we have dryland practice, a camping trip, and a pre season ski camp at Loveland which is all held in the fall. CU Boulder Asian Studies Graduate Association (CUBASGA) is, as its name suggests, a group dedicated to providing students with a forum to present original scholarship on topics related to Asia (primarily, but not limited to, China and Japan).The principal event hosted by CUBASGA is its annual conference, held in late January or February. Hello! We are the ice skating club here at CU. We are an open and accepting group for anyone who enjoys ice skating; whether you've been skating your entire life, or just learning how to stand up. We have a focus on the figure skating aspect of the ice, but all types of skaters are welcome! CU Milana is the premiere co-ed competitive fusion dance-team at the University of Colorado Boulder. Derived from the Sanskrit/Urdu word, ‘Milana’ means “combine” or “unite” in Hindi. The team aims to foster a mixture of various Indian styles such as Bollywood, Bhangra, South Indian, and Classical with Western styles such as Hip hop and contemporary to offer a wide scale integration of culture and community. We are the CU Boulder RoboSub team. Our program provides STEM inclined students the opportunity to gain interdisciplinary experience designing, prototyping, and testing unmanned, underwater vehicles. Students apply their classroom knowledge with industry experience and tools on our three engineering teams: electrical, mechanical, and software. Our program provides a safe, diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment for students to expand their existing technical skill set and meet other students with similar passions. We compete annually at the AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International) RoboSub Competition in San Diego and the MATE ROV competition in Colorado and potentially in Long Beach, California. At the 2019 RoboSub competition we ranked 7th out of 55 teams.

The CU Climbing Team is a student organization that strives to build and maintain a community of those committed to improving as climbers and individuals. We are a group of student athletes who are all psyched to get better at rock climbing! Our goal is to motivate one another and to improve our climbing skills both inside and outside, whilst fostering a supportive community of genuine climbers. We are a competitive team through USA Climbing's Collegiate Climbing Series, which hosts competitions throughout the academic year, with a National Championship event at the end of the season. We practice multiple times a week off-campus at The Spot Louisville and other Spot affiliated gyms. We host a tryout at the beginning of the school year to form a team of 58 individuals with diverse climbing backgrounds. With our tryout process, we are not solely looking at climbing ability, but also character, integrity, and the motivation to show up to practices and train as a team. Many of our members can be found climbing outside during the week and on occasion, we take extended team outdoor trips as well. Team members also have access to coaching and training plans, as well as sponsorship deals with multiple reputable climbing companies.

The mission of this club has always been to provide a community where students can meet new people all while having fun playing the game of Cornhole. We are open to all skill levels. The CU Herpetology Club aims to fill the gap in available resources for subjects related to amphibians and reptiles both on campus and in the wider Boulder community by offering interactive opportunities to engage in herpetology. We will create and deliver educational programs to Boulder schools and other community events, travel around Colorado to observe herpetofauna in their habitats, and connect students with internships, volunteer positions, and careers in herpetology and the broader field of conservation. We will make direct impacts in the field of herpetology by expanding our collective knowledge of ecological, evolutionary, and conservation topics pertaining to amphibians and reptiles, as well as learning critical techniques for field research and ethical interaction with wildlife. This club will be an hands-on and fun organization for those interested in biodiversity and/or herpetology, with an emphasis on community service and engagement.

CU Hyperloop is an Engineering Club that competes at the international “Not-A-Boring Competition” hosted by The Boring Company (TBC). Initially started in 2018 for a Hyperloop POD competition hosted by SpaceX and The Boring Company, where teams would design and build innovative ways to mock a realistic tunnel train in a vacuum chamber to expedite long range transportation. This competition lasted a few years before migrating to a competition based on mining tunnels as that is a problem that needs to be addressed first. This is because mining tunnels fast and efficiently is extremely difficult as Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM’s) endure extreme forces in strenuous environments.

The week-long competition is held in May at TBC in Bastrop Texas where competitors from around the world compete including teams from Switzerland, Bangladesh, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Our team has placed 2nd worldwide for the last two years and we’re on a mission to be at the top. CU Hyperloop is a year-round team encompassing a startup business model encouraging rapid innovation and design creation.

Our team has 9 sub teams including; Structures, Propulsion, Excavation, Soil Removal, Tunnel Support, Fluids, Electrical, Software, and Business Development. Each year starting in the Summer we re-design the machine implementing research & development (R&D), Design (CAD), Analysis, Manufacturing, Integration, and Testing.

The CUI is the only editorially independent student news outlet on CU Boulder's campus.Since 2006, we've covered news, sports, arts, entertainment and opinion relevant to community members. The CU Juggling Club is dedicated to the pursuit of throwing things and perhaps catching them. We bring together students & faculty, and community members for informal skill sharing and social activities. Skill toys such as clubs, balls, rings, diabolo, hoops, poi, staff, unicycles, boomerang, and slack line can be found here. This is a welcoming and cooperative place for all people! If you are interested in learning circus or flow arts, just ask and we're happy to teach what we know. Free food is provided for club participants about once per month. For the Fall 2024 term we will be meeting on Farrand Field every Tuesday from 4-7 pm, come and go. As the weather gets chillier, meetings take place in the basement gym at Carlson Gymnasium (right next to the rec center.)

Mock trial is a competitive law-related program for undergraduate students. Each season, we're given a packet detailing a criminal or civil case, featuring case law, affidavits, and evidence. Students either take on the role of a lawyer and/or play a witness for the defense or prosecution. We are taught and guided by real attorneys (whom we adore!), and selected students will be able to travel to a competition in Arizona to play out their case in November. Most students will be able to attend regionals in February, where we compete for a national ranking. Mock trial is the place to develop your public speaking skills, meet new people, and find your voice. Our team fosters a very close community––we would love for you to join us!

No prior experience is required to join our club. All you have to do is audition (for ~10 minutes) to show that you are willing to speak in front of a small audience. Our program doesn't do cuts, meaning that if you try out, you will be guaranteed a spot on one of our teams.

The pre-health track can be very challenging, confusing, and fast-paced for students that are trying to prepare for their future while also taking difficult prerequisite classes like general chemistry or anatomy & physiology. There is no pre-determined way of fulfilling all of the requirements for graduate programs like M.D. school and PA school. It is essential for pre-health undergraduates to have a resource on campus that fills this gap in order to open new doors of opportunity for the future. CUPA is a student run organization that provides exactly this for students interested in the Physician Assistant career field. Don't exactly understand what a PA is or why people choose PA over MD/NP/etc.? This is the place to find out! There is a growing demand for PA's in the workforce, and an increasing number of accredited graduate programs looking to account for this. CUPA's Mission, as a CU Boulder RSO, is to provide the space for motivated students to collaborate, network, and share experiences when it comes to the pre-health undergraduate track. We have covered a wide range of wonderful opportunities for CUPA members such as: shadowing opportunities, volunteering opportunities, guest speakers from Anschutz, CASPA, PA's, AAPA, graduate PA programs, and more. We are CU Boulder's official Quadball (a.k.a Quidditch) team. That's right - Quidditch, that sport from Harry Potter! Although we can't fly (yet), the Muggle version of the sport is far from boring. Think of it as a cross between dodgeball, rugby, basketball, flag football, and track, all while holding a broomstick between your legs. The goal? Score points by throwing the Quaffle through the hoops. Knock out players with Bludgers. Catch the Snitch (which is... a tennis ball in a sock attached to a runner's shorts). It's fast-paced, full contact, co-ed, and totally awesome. We practice once a week and host social events, and we compete with other teams in the region all year long. Hi! We're CU Boulder's quiz bowl team, the Trivia Buffs! We compete against other colleges in a buzzer-based game that tests academic knowledge, in every subject ranging from sports to literature to science to fine arts to mythology to geography to current events! We've played tournaments everywhere from Kansas to Utah to Idaho to Illinois. What is CU Robotics? CU Robotics is a competitive robotics team at CU Boulder that competes in the RoboMaster robotics competition. Rotaract is a community service organization based within the University of Colorado Boulder but open to the community. We are partnered with Rotary International and their other associated organizations. Our focus ranges from our local to international community. We typically host service projects every semester as well as fundraise for larger causes. Rotaract is also very open to working with other organizations on joint projects. In the past we have worked with other CU clubs, Boulder rotary clubs, and many local businesses. Some of our previous events include succulent handouts for eating disorder awareness, local trail cleanup, meal distribution to the local homeless population, volunteering at an elementary school, hosting a trivia night fundraiser for international relief, and many more exciting projects. Additionally, we have access to a large network of professionals through Rotary. One of our goals is to aid in professional development and connect members to Rotarians with similar career path as mentors. We are a low commitment club that meets bi-weekly and is open for anyone who is interested! CU SRL is a student-led rocket group, created to give members from a diverse array of majors (all engineering disciplines, business, undergraduate, graduate) the ability to participate in rocket engineering and manage a real business.
