What is the American Conservation Coalition? The American Conservation Coalition (ACC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing young people around environmental action through common-sense, market-based, and limited-government ideals. ACC was founded in June 2017 by a group of Millennials who saw an ideological gap in the environmental movement preventing necessary bipartisan action.ACC believes economic and environmental success go hand-in-hand, and that everyone should feel empowered to take a seat at the table in discussions concerning conservation, clean energy, sportsmen's rights, agriculture, climate, and much more. ACC seeks to activate young people that are tired of partisan inaction on the grassroots, state, and federal levels -- bringing forth prosperous action on environmental issues that impact us all. CCL empowers everyday people to work together on climate change solutions. Together we're building support in Congress for a national bipartisan solution to climate change. Our supporters make meaningful contributions every day that drive our mission forward, whether it's building relationships with their members of Congress, local businesses, media and more. CCL provides training and tools to help you maximize your skills. Our goal is to informe CU students of legislative actions they can take to help the environment and to send students to Washington DC in July 2026 to ask legislators to support equitable, bipartisan climate policy solutions.

The CU Energy Club is a multi-disciplinary group dedicated to networking, education, and outreach in the energy sector, with a focus on renewable and sustainable energy. Our primary goals are to expand on what CU students learn in the classroom and help them make connections in the energy industry. We appeal to both graduate and undergraduate students, drawing primarily from students of engineering, environmental science, law, policy and business; anyone interested in energy.

The Farm & Garden Club manages community garden spaces, which provide permaculture education to students and opportunities to practice growing organic produce. The club also hosts special events and group volunteering at local farms in order to connect with regenerative agriculture initiatives in Boulder. The food grown by the club is donated back to CU students and community members. Students with any level of experience farming & gardening are welcome here!

The CU Herpetology Club aims to fill the gap in available resources for subjects related to amphibians and reptiles both on campus and in the wider Boulder community by offering interactive opportunities to engage in herpetology. We will create and deliver educational programs to Boulder schools and other community events, travel around Colorado to observe herpetofauna in their habitats, and connect students with internships, volunteer positions, and careers in herpetology and the broader field of conservation. We will make direct impacts in the field of herpetology by expanding our collective knowledge of ecological, evolutionary, and conservation topics pertaining to amphibians and reptiles, as well as learning critical techniques for field research and ethical interaction with wildlife. This club will be an hands-on and fun organization for those interested in biodiversity and/or herpetology, with an emphasis on community service and engagement.

The CU Wildlife Club strives to foster a respectful relationship with wildlife found in Boulder and beyond. We hope to accomplish this through a combination of educational opportunities from guest speaker presentations, observing wildlife at a distance that is safe for us and the animals, and ensuring we leave as small of an impact as possible when on club excursions. The CU Wildlife Club plans to focus on providing accessible education on the wildlife in our region and beyond, along with identifying signs of animal species (scat, footprints, etc.) and plants that act as natural remedies for various ailments. The CU Wildlife Club plans on holding events such as day hikes, backpacking/camping trips, excursions to national parks, hosting guest speakers (professors, naturalists, and representatives from wildlife rehabilitation centers), doing nature-related crafts, watching nature documentaries, learning about local ecology, and documenting findings via photography, videography, and field notes. These methods will generate discussions on ways to coexist with wildlife while preserving and encouraging rewilding. As a club, we promise to welcome all groups of people from all backgrounds. We promise to be respectful towards all nature while in the field as a club and in the field as individuals. We promise to utilize this club as a way to further our knowledge and engage in our nature-related interests, enriching and influencing our treatment of nature both on an individual level and a community level. This is our pledge as the University of Colorado Boulder's Wildlife Club.

The Strategies for Ecology Education, Diversity and Sustainability program (SEEDS) is the flagship award-winning education program of the Ecological Society of America. SEEDS was established in 1996 to reduce, over time, the serious under-representation within the field of ecology of individuals from certain minority groups. The core SEEDS program components offer hands-on, engaging experiences with ecology that exhibit the relevance and applications of science. Each experience also provides opportunities to interact with a diverse group of ecologists and other motivated students to both broaden and deepen students' understanding of ecology and potential careers.
SEEDS is intended for students of any background or major with an interest in ecology, not just EBIO or ENVS students. Our goal as a CU Boulder chapter is to improve networking and provide social support for students with interests in ecology. We also want to introduce students interested in ecology to academic and non-academic career paths, including support for professional writing for job applications, CVs, and graduate school applications. Fall 2021 was our first semester as a SEEDS chapter at CU, and we're hoping to foster a collaborative space where all members can contribute to shaping the organization.
Activities include fieldwork experiences with professionals and graduate students, preparation and coaching, and social outings like hikes, picnics, and birding. We are open to holding events that members/students at CU are interested in. Eventually, there are opportunities to attend professional development events like the ESA annual conference as well as SEEDS national and regional field trips to gain experience in fieldwork alongside trained ecological professionals.

The Student Affiliate Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects at CU Boulder is a professional and academic organization that seeks to uphold the values of its parent, The American Society of Landscape Architects. Through community outreach, education, and internal communications, the group promotes the profession of landscape architecture and the values of environmental learning and stewardship, ecological thinking, and current design standards in the industry. Events are held once monthly and range from Park(ing) Day (an annual rebellion against the use of urban streetscapes) to portfolio reviews and tree plantings.
